The film reflects the conditions for those sentenced to life imprisonment in the countries of Central Asia.

Following a conference on the progression of the abolition of death penalty in Central Asia, the conference participants made the following recommendations that the state bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Tajikistan implement the following measures at their earliest opportunity.

Public Statement
PRI’s statement on the OSCE’s commitment to the abolition of the death penalty within the region. Whilst acknowledging the progress already made towards this end, it also calls upon those states who still hold the death penalty to alter their justice system to bring it into line with international standards and norms.
