Our values reflect how we approach criminal justice, and can be placed under our definition of good governance.
Do no harm
We seek to prevent the harm prisons and the criminal justice system have on those in contact with the law, their families and society at large. We have procedures in place to ensure our actions do not cause damage or suffering to the lives of our beneficiaries and others in the criminal justice system.
We seek to promote equal access to justice and fair processes for suspects and those who have offended under the law. We offer paths to address discrimination and intolerance in criminal justice systems. We actively promote the involvement and participation of disadvantaged and socially excluded groups in reforming and overseeing criminal justice systems, as well as ensuring respect for their rights.
We seek to be as open and accountable as possible in our activities, funding and partners with all of our stakeholders.
We approach our work for justice and fairness with humanity at its core. Our actions and interventions are motivated by compassion towards others, especially those facing difficulties and challenging situations.
