This paper was first published in Russian in 2019 with the support of the UK Government (CSSF) as part of the project “Strengthening and countering radicalization and violent extremism in prisons in Central Asia through religious dialogue and reintegration programs”.
In 2022, it was translated into Uzbek and Karakalpak languages with the financial support of the German Federal Foreign Office as part of the project “Promoting the prevention of violent extremism in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the state and civil society through education, dialogue and building the resilience of vulnerable groups of the population to radicalization”, implemented by the Branch of the German Association People’s Universities (DVV) in Uzbekistan together with local partner organizations. The project is part of a larger project: “Preventing Violent Extremism in Central Asia” (Preventing Violent Extremism in Central Asia – PREVECA) and is implemented jointly with Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
