Guidelines
Operational guidelines for professionals on children in conflict with the law during COVID-19
In order to protect children deprived of liberty during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Global Initiative on Justice with Children called for the release of all children from immigration detention and accelerated release of children from criminal justice or protection facilities, as well as urgent action to implement non-custodial measures to ensure children’s safe reintegration into families and communities.
To support professionals working with children in conflict with the law during the crisis, a group of organisations and experts including PRI, partnered to produce three sets of clear, short and practical operational guidelines. The guidelines are divided into three broad categories of professionals who work in this field: Social Workforce, Security Forces and Legal Professionals. A compendium of all three guidelines is also available.
- Operational Guidelines - Social Workforce (2MB)
- Operational Guidelines - Security Forces (9MB)
- Operational Guidelines - Legal Professionals (2MB)
- Operational Guidelines - Compendium (1MB)
