PRI’s partner in Pakistan, the DOST Foundation, to host conference on alternatives to imprisonment next week
On 27-28 February, Prison, Police and Probation officials and the Judiciary from four provinces in Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Baluchistan and Sindh, as well as local civil society organisations and international criminal justice experts, will participate in a Conference ‘Criminal Justice Reform in Pakistan – Developing Alternatives to Prison’.
The Conference will focus on prison practice, non-custodial measures, juvenile justice and women offenders. PRI is supporting the DOST Foundation, our NGO partner in Pakistan, to host the Conference, with funding support from the UK Government.
The findings and recommendations from two recently produced reports by PRI and DOST on Pakistan’s probation system and juvenile justice will be discussed during the Conference:

- Pakistan: A review of law and policy to prevent and remedy violence against children in Pakistan
