Next week on Wednesday 16 October, PRI will launch a Toolbox on the UN Bangkok Rules at the UN General Assembly to support implementation of the Rules.
A panel discussion, ‘The human rights of women in prison: A toolbox to implement the UN Bangkok Rules’ will illustrate how the needs of women prisoners tend to be overlooked and will highlight the need for gender-sensitive criminal justice systems. HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand, who played an instrumental role in the development of the Rules, will deliver the keynote address. (See flyer for the event)
