Final report from the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations Corrections conference now available
This is the final report from the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations (UN DPKO) Corrections conference held in Berlin in June 2012.
The conference, hosted by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Center for International Peace Operations, brought together high level correctional staff, members of relevant intergovernmental agencies and some select NGOs to discuss ‘The role of corrections in Peacekeeping and peacebuilding: improving the impact of international assistance’.
Nikhil Roy, PRI’s Programme Development Director, made two presentations. The first focused on how to learn from best practices in partnerships while the second discussed partnerships and resources.
During the well-received discussions he highlighted PRI’s work with local partners in South Asia and East Africa and our work with UN agencies, and how these partnerships can be best built to ensure that effective, comprehensive and sustainable intervention is achieved.
