PRI at the 32nd session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ)

The 32nd Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ) will be held in Vienna, Austria and online from 22 – 26 May 2023. The CCPCJ is the principal policymaking body that guides the UN in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice, which takes action through resolutions and decisions.
PRI will be at the Commission to raise key trends and emerging issues in prisons and criminal justice systems, including the overuse of criminal justice responses and imprisonment that have led to a record high global prison population, and have a disproportionate impact on poor and marginalised members of our societies.
Throughout the week, PRI is involved in a series of hybrid side events that we invite you to attend, either at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) if you are attending the CCPCJ, or online (no registration is required to join online):
