A review of law and policy to prevent and remedy violence against children in police and pre-trial detention: Overview (draft)
This desk review (a working draft) aims to increase understanding of the specific legal and policy measures that can work to prevent and remedy violence against children in detention.
The review focuses on eight countries: Bangladesh, Georgia, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tanzania and Uganda. For each country the review aims to:
- identify policy and legislative measures already in place to prevent and detect violence, to assist victims and to make perpetrators accountable;
- highlight significant gaps in provision; and
- make recommendations for improvements.
This overview report summarises the findings of the eight country reports and is available in both English and Russian.
