Join us for the launch of PRI’s Toolbox on UN Bangkok Rules at UN General Assembly
Next week on Wednesday 16 October, PRI will launch a Toolbox on the UN Bangkok Rules at the UN General Assembly to support implementation of the Rules.
A panel discussion, ‘The human rights of women in prison: A toolbox to implement the UN Bangkok Rules’ will illustrate how the needs of women prisoners tend to be overlooked and will highlight the need for gender-sensitive criminal justice systems. HRH Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol of Thailand, who played an instrumental role in the development of the Rules, will deliver the keynote address. (See flyer for the event)

PRI will present two flagship resources and it’s free online course which form part of PRI’s Toolbox on the Bangkok Rules to assist in putting the Rules into practice, including:
- A Guidance Document and Index of Implementation, co-published with the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ)
- PRI’s e-course, Women in detention: Putting the UN Bangkok Rules into practice, developed in association with Human Rights Education Associates (HREA), which will go live at the event
