PRI is recruiting a new Policy Intern! To learn more about this fantastic post, read our interview with our outgoing intern Harvey Slade about his experience at PRI.
Favourite thing about being an intern at PRI?
My favourite thing about being an intern at PRI has been learning what it’s like to work for an international NGO. It’s been a fantastic opportunity to engage with human rights issues at a level I have never done before.
Most valuable thing you have learnt?
Being a Research and Policy Intern has involved learning in-depth about international legal standards that I did not know much about previously. PRI’s work goes into some fascinating areas of penal reform – such as women in the criminal justice system – and I’m leaving this role with a great deal of new expertise I can help build a career with.
What’s next?
I’m going to work as a Caseworker for a Member of Parliament.
Why should you apply to be a research intern at PRI?
PRI is always engaged in really interesting work and, as a research intern, you get to be immersed in all of that. Not only do you get to improve your own knowledge about criminal justice, you get to experience what it’s like developing policy and providing advocacy on a range of international issues. PRI is a unique NGO and I’ve loved every minute of it!
