Just like Nelson Mandela said: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

As much as I enjoyed reading this well written post, as someone who has survived the prison system first hand, there are some areas that I feel need further comment on..
At Leavenworth Camp in Leavenworth, Kansas, where I served my time offered no valuable classes/courses for the inmate population to prepare anyone for reentry into society or the the workforce. The type of classes offered to us included horticulture, basketball officiating, typing, and guitar. None of these type of useless classes could prepare anyone for the current job market regardless their length of time spent incarcerated.

I hope that by exposing these types of useless “classes”, that the American public will finally get a clearer picture of their taxpayer monies are being wasted, as the BOP continues to use them as a cash cow.

I would like to say that this is exactly what we have started in Zambia as Zambian Teen Challenge Training School. We have requested the Commissioner General for Correctional Facility to educate all inmates throughout Zambia, and we have been welcomed. All we need as a non-governmental organization which is non-profit making is to partner with organizations like yours. Our first lesson in one of the prisons in Zambia, Kanfinsa prison in particular, starts next week Monday 23rd September, 2019. We need your support for this noble cause. We want to change the life of prisoners and be able to integrate them in community.

Thank you for your message.
